オーガニックコットン100％。バージン50％再利用50％のループウィール天竺。吊り編み機を使用した柔らかくて丈夫な日本製オリジナルボディ。ロングスリーブ。内周側が縮み外周側が伸びるバイアス仕様のバインダーネック。竹炭のグレー、ブラックの2カラー。

Bamboo Charcoal
竹は成長が早く節があるので、古くから子供の成長を祝う節目に使用されてきた。竹炭は、竹を高温下で蒸して炭化させて造られる。多孔質で表面積が大きいため、優れた吸着力や湿度を調整する作用等がある。水を浄化するために使われたり、消臭剤として使われる。抗菌力があるので菌から体を守り、遠赤外線効果があるので自律神経を整え新陳代謝を高める。

1960年頃までは活躍していたヨーロッパ生まれのこの編み機は、天井から吊り下げられた状態で生地を編んでいくため「吊り編み機」や「吊り機」と呼ばれる。糸に余計なテンションをかけず、ゆっくりと編んでいくため、空気を含んだように柔らかで、なおかつ丈夫な生地を編むことができる。しかし、1時間に1メートルほどしか編むことが出来ないため、大量生産・大量消費の社会の中で出番を失っていき、今では世界的にも日本の和歌山県の数社でしか稼働していない貴重な技術。

ボタニカルダイとは、タンパク処理された繊維を、植物が持つ色素とわずかな化学染料を併用して染めるハイブリッドな植物染め。従来の草木染めと比べて、高い堅牢度と鮮やかな発色が特徴。金属による発色と定着を促す媒染剤は使わず、色素を抽出する時の温度や酸性またはアルカリ性、染料の濃度によって色味をコントロールする。植物が持つ自然の色は、複雑に乱反射するため、繊維を美しく奥行きある色に染めることができる。
