A T-shirt dyed with mugwort, which has many medicinal properties and was collected in the Tama Hills area of Tokyo. Botanical dye is a hybrid plant dye that combines pigments extracted from plants with minimal chemical dyes.
ROC stands for Recycle Organic Cotton Mugwort Dye.
100% organic cotton. 6oz loop wheel jersey, 50% virgin and 50% recycled. Soft and durable original Japanese body made using a loop wheel knitting machine. 10.5 x 10cm pocket. Bias-sewn binder neck that shrinks on the inside and expands on the outside. Mugwort yellow.

Mugwort
A perennial plant of the Asteraceae family found in Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and Ogasawara in Japan. The essential oil that gives mugwort its scent has various medicinal properties and has been used as a medicinal herb since ancient times. The leaves have a hemostatic effect as they are, and when brewed and drunk, they are said to have medicinal properties such as stomach health, ameliorating diarrhea and improving anemia. The mugwort leaves used are collected from the Tama Hills area.

Botanical Dye
Botanical dye is a hybrid plant dye that dyes protein-treated fibers with a combination of pigments found in plants and small amounts of chemical dyes. Compared to traditional plant dyes, it is characterized by high fastness and vivid color development. It does not use mordants that promote color development and fixation with metals, and controls the color tone by the temperature when extracting the pigment, acidity or alkalinity, and dye concentration. The natural colors of plants reflect light in a complex and diffuse manner, allowing fibers to be dyed in beautiful, deep colors.
